Hollywood is not the nicest area. There are a lot of homeless people on the streets. However , they won’t harm you. There is security 24/7 , so no one can get in.The hotel is very clean and has spacious rooms. Beds are comfortable, as it is common in the US. The staff are friendly and helpful. Although Hollywood is not the best area it is central. There is a target , a Starbucks and a Walgreens as well as several fast food chains within walking distance of the hotel. During the day you can see the Hollywood sign from the balcony. Nothing to dislike about the hotel really.

Awesome location, so handy to metro, bus lines, Griffith Observatory, surrounding walks on the hills and Hollywood, staff are friendly and helpful. After reading some of the reviews about homeless people around the area I was a bit nervous coming from sheltered New Zealand but they weren’t a problem at all, harmless and never bothered us. As you will see, everywhere in LA sadly has homeless people (besides areas like Beverly Hills).

I am absolutely amazed by this hotel. It exceeded my expectations because it was very, very, very clean and cozy! The towel and bed linen were like new!!! The smell in the room was great!!! I was so pleased to rest there and I even asked to extend my reservation, but unfortunately everything was occupied... And most importantly, all the service staff was very polite!!! I will definitely go back there again!!! THANK YOU DUNES INN LA

Check in staff was wonderful! Housekeeping was friendly and hardworking ! They took screens off the windows and washed the windows- never seen that before! Our window blinds were a little askew, but staff already knew that and had a repair person come take care of it! The grounds were so well kept - and so nice to have security there, who were also very nice people!

Very accommodating staff. Friendly and informative. I left my makeup bag there after checkout and they mailed it to me at no expense. I definitely would recommend. Very easy access off the highway and close to many of the sights. Runs parallel to Hollywood Blvd and the Walk of Fame. In fact, you could just walk to it. Easy ride to the Hollywood sign as well.
